Yea Landon!

I have been stressing over the boys and their lack of potty-training. I know, I know...everyone now says don't push kids and they will get it and pushing only delays the process. I have tried a little potty, the normal bathroom, rewards, etc and nothing! I think they aren't potty-trained for two reasons:

1. They really aren't aware of when they have to go. They have never told me they had to go...and they aren't very...um, regular as far as #2 goes. I mean, they go everyday but sometimes they go twice in the am, sometimes once in the am and once in the pm, or sometimes just once either am or pm.

2. My schedule this summer has been so busy and stressful (for me). I pulled them from daycare for the month of May and then they had a babysitter for June and a different babysitter for July and sometimes I was home and most of the time I wasn't. We just didn't have any kind of schedule.

Well, yesterday (Tuesday) I asked Landon if he needed to go potty. He looked at me and said, "sure". I sat him down on his little potty. And he WENT! He was so excited! I thought, well, that was a fluke. A little later he ran up and said he had to go again. And he went then too! A total of four times from 3:00-9:00 yesterday. Today, he has gone 3 times...and he did #2 (which is so gross to be exited about, but we are!!). We are so proud of you Landon!

More golfing

Kylie and her daddy went golfing again. She has a great time playing! She is really ready for some cooler fall weather so it isn't so miserable being outside so long! We have had temperatures between 95-100 degrees (and it feels much hotter) this week.

Oh, and a few people have asked about my camera. I have two and I love them both. I have a Canon PowerShot S50 and a Nikon D60. I have only had the Nikon for a few months and am still learning all the features. I have had my Canon for four years and can't think of one bad thing to say about it!

Homemade Pizza

We made homemade pizzas for dinner the other night. It was the first time the boys actually helped. And, like a true Dallas family experience...we had both smiles and tears in this 15 minute process!

If I remember right...Kylie was mad because she didn't want to change shirts and put her hair up...and Landon was crying because he wanted to play in the sauce. Gavin was happy picking his nose...and the crying continuted while we stopped to wash his hands

We are all composed again and happy :)

Kylie had to line her pepperoni up in rows

The boys were lucky to get the pepperoni on the pizza at all

All cooked and ready to eat!

I think they had fun...and we should have combed Landon's hair!

Bath Time!

I really don't know how it started but Gavin and Landon are all about having "crazy" hair. Basically, just messed up hair...wet or dry. So, they love when daddy gives them a bath because he is an expert at doing crazy hair!

And, I always feel guilty for doing a post just about Kylie or just about the boys so here is a picture of Kylie before church on Sunday. She has been swimming a lot and getting really tan.

A day without the kids!

This never happens...we had a day without the kids. While they were having fun at their grandparents house, we went to Hot Springs and Mt. Magazine (the highest point in AR).

While in Hot Springs we went to Garvan Woodland Gardens. It was so nice walking around looking at the plants and flowers. It was RELAXING! Then we went up to Mt. Magazine. There is a fairly new lodge and cabins. It was beautiful up there.

It was nice to have a day...but it was just as nice seeing the kids that night!

Makes me Smile!

I can't remember exactly what day it was but the boys were laying on the floor together having a very in-depth conversation. I was in and out of the living room but remember thinking, "what are they up to...I'm not hearing any talking anymore." I found them like this...

It is so neat to see their "connection".

What is this??

If you know me well you know that I have the farthest thing from a green thumb. We have a few plants growing in our front planter boxes that I'm not sure what they are. I think either cucumber, squash or pumpkin. Now, how did they start growing in our front boxes? My best guess is that the seeds got washed up during one of our "floods" in the spring. Kylie told me that we HAVE to take care of them and we CAN'T let them die! She knows me too well....

Does anyone know what they are??

Jared's Birthday Dinner

I am WAY behind...we had Jared's birthday dinner on his birthday (July 6). He picked pizza for dinner. We had a lot of fun! We also had apple crumb pie and chocolate sundae pie for dessert. YUM!

Starting dinner...

Happy Birthday to you...

Happy Birthday, Jared!

Happy Birthday little brother! I can't believe you are 25! Hope you have a good day!!

July 4th

We had a fantastic July 4th! The day was spent swimming, eating, visiting, laughing, and having so much fun! We couldn't have asked for a better day.

Kylie patiently waiting for her cousins to get there

Sneaky Landon...eating a cookie before dinner

Gavin couldn't resist the birdbath...

My kids had to test the corn before the picnic started. It passed inspection!

All the food was SO good! The weather wasn't too hot and it was nice sitting on the back porch.

Kylie was "too old" to sit with us. She had to sit with the big kids...

Gavin decided he wanted watermelon. He no more than sat down when Landon wanted to share. They would each take a bite and then put the watermelon back in the bowl. Landon quickly decided he didn't really want watermelon anymore.

Landon didn't care about the watermelon anymore so Gavin finished it off.

Gavin had to lick all that watermelon juice off his fingers!

Who knows what Gavin was looking at!

Landon was actually looking for birds

The fireworks started WAY before dark. Everyone migrated from the back to the front at the first bursts of sound. Kylie kept saying the sun would NEVER go down! Gavin liked the fireworks. At first, Landon said he was scared (he associated the noise with a storm, which he hates). Then, as it started getting dark and the good ones were being set off, he said, "the firecrackers are pretty".
